Bristol City Community Trust, Boomsatsuma education and Ashton Park School have teamed up to deliver a post-16 Sport Media Diploma for young persons across the South West.
The course’s launch follows on from the success attained through Boomsatsuma’s media production programme and the Trust’s sport education initiatives in recent years.
The three organisations will work in close capacity to deliver a Level 3 sports media course that focuses on filmmaking, photography, graphic design, events management and journalism – all of which are fundamental areas within the sports industry.
With exclusive access to community projects, coaching sessions and matchday roles through the Trust, students will be able to immerse themselves within multiple projects, which positively impact the local community.
In addition, there will be the unique opportunity for the students to gain valuable experience and support from Bristol Sport, Bristol City, Bristol Rugby, Bristol Flyers and Ashton Park School.
The Sport Media Diploma offers two pathways, however, both are limited to just 20 spaces, which will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
Entry requirements for both the courses are a minimum of five GCSEs, grades Level 4 or above, including maths and English. Offers are subject to interviews.
As with the other education courses available through the Trust, this newly launched programme is expected to attract vast interest so prospective students are urged to submit their interest as soon as possible.
Applications are made here.
