Trio return for Sunderland clash

Nathan Baker and Bobby Reid are restored to City’s starting line-up for the Sky Bet Championship encounter at Sunderland.

Defender Baker has missed the club’s last two games with a knee injury, but returns in City’s first visit to the Stadium of Light since 1999.

Reid was absent for the midweek thrashing of Premier League side Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup due to an ankle problem, but he will line-up alongside Matty Taylor in the North East.

In a further boost, Korey Smith has now fully shaken off a hamstring injury to take his place on the bench.

Famara Diédhiou and Jens Hegeler remain absent with knee problems.
