Arrangements are being put in place for the City’s final day home encounter with Birmingham City on Sunday, May 7th – held on the same day as the Bristol 10k.
There will be numerous street closures in place ahead of the Sky Bet Championship finale, which kicks off at midday, causing a knock-on effect for fans of both teams.
Fans travelling from Birmingham would normally exit the M5 at Junction 18 and then travel to the ground via the Portway. However, because of the Bristol 10k, this route will not be available to fans travelling to the ground via the M5.
Instead, travelling fans will be asked to continue to the next junction (J19) and to rendezvous at Gordano Services, where they will met and led to Ashton Gate in convoy with a police motorcycle escort.
This will not be a formal police operation but aims to minimise traffic congestion for the travelling fans on the short journey to the stadium.
Ashton Gate will be open earlier than normal, from 10am, to allow travelling fans to sit down and obtain refreshments.
For home supporters, fans are asked to use public transport or walk/cycle wherever possible.
The Portway will be closed from 6am to 1pm with other road closures such as Hotwell Road being closed for outbound traffic from 6am to 11.30am but it is open for into City traffic only throughout. Further details can be found on the website: greatrun.org/bristol10k.

Service AG1 – Portway Park and Ride
