Bristol City have secured the loan signing of Bournemouth attacker Lee Tomlin for the remainder of the season.
The 27-year-old joins up with the squad in time for Saturday’s home clash with Birmingham City, having completed formalities at the Failand training ground.
Interim boss Pemberton told bcfc.co.uk: “We’ve been monitoring his situation at Bournemouth and it’s great that we’ve been able to bring him on board.
“He wants to play football and he’ll bring us ability and experience. We’ve already spoken about the way we want to set the team up with a tighter backline but we can’t neglect the fact we need to score goals.
“Hopefully Lee will give us that in the final third. In tight games, like at Leeds on Saturday, hopefully he can be the one to notch something for us.”
Tomlin began his career with Rushden & Diamonds, making 197 appearances and scoring 38 times.
Peterborough United took him into League One in August 2010 and he played a key role in their promotion to the Championship in his maiden campaign with the club.
A total of 43 goals in 156 games for the Posh saw Middlesbrough come calling in 2013/14, initially on loan before the switch became permanent.
Bournemouth snapped up Tomlin in the summer following their promotion to the Premier League, giving the forward his first chance in the top flight.
Chances have been few and far between so far this season, with ten appearances and one goal to his name.
Tomlin, who has been handed squad number nine, has the opportunity to bolster City’s survival bid in the Sky Bet Championship.
