City have appointed Jerry Tocknell as the club’s Supporter Liaison Officer.
Tocknell will start work at Ashton Gate Stadium on December 16th and will be a vital link for BCFC with its fanbase.
The full-time appointment is the next step following the introduction of the matchday information point, a dedicated email address slo@bcfc.co.uk and @BristolCitySLO social media account.
City Chief Executive Officer Mark Ashton said: “The SLO is a key position and one we wanted to fill full-time so it was important to get the right person.
“We are delighted to have recruited Jerry as we believe he has the professional and personal skills required to ensure that liaison with our fantastic supporters is first class.”
A familiar face in the matchday ticket office and a steward for the away travel coaches, Tocknell is stepping away from his role as an operations and finance manager for a computer firm after 25 years to take on this new challenge.
“I can’t wait to get started. Bristol City is my club and I hope I can do justice to the role for all supporters,” said Tocknell.
“The club is moving forward and making great strides in every area on and off the field and supporter liaison is one of those.”
The Grand Appeal is gearing up for a bumper summer of fundraising across Bristol and the South West as it marks the 25th Anniversary of the iconic dress-down event, Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day.
