Tomas Kalas feels “at home” in BS3 and it was a fundamental factor in his decision to switch Chelsea for Bristol City.
The centre-back has joined the Robins on a permanent basis following last season’s successful loan spell.
He was thankful to the club’s supporters for his warm reception last season and he can’t wait to return to the pitch and help the club kick on in 2019/20.
City’s new record signing told bcfc.co.uk: “I had a nice summer, a bit of a holiday and now I’m ready to go again for a whole season.
“The fans and everyone associated with the club made me feel welcome and at home. It felt the right thing to do.
“ I knew where I was going, what I could expect and the manager and the boys know what to expect from me. It was easier than joining a new club and having to get used to everyone and everything again.
“I hope to prove to everyone that I am worth being here. I appreciate the opportunity to show to everyone that I can play football to help the club go where it wants to be and that is the promised land.”
With just a few days to go until Elton John plays at Ashton Gate, concert-goers are urged to take advantage of special event Shuttle Buses laid on to help get fans to and from the stadium.
