Lee Johnson admits he will make changes to his team for tomorrow night’s Carabao Cup second round tie at Watford.
The City head coach opted to make five changes for the first round encounter with Plymouth Argyle earlier this month, resulting in a 5-0 win over the League One side.
But even with Premier League opposition next on the agenda, Johnson still plans to make alterations following Saturday’s goalless draw with Millwall.
“It’s a great game for us because it’s against Premier League opposition,” the City boss told BCTV.
“I’m sure they will make one or two changes. I don’t want to make crazy changes, but I do want to make changes for the people that I feel deserve a shot.
“I’m excited because there are a couple that I really want to see play and they’ll come up against top opposition.”
Milan Djuric and Matty Taylor remain absent through injury, while Cauley Woodrow is cup-tied having played for Fulham in round one.
Aden Flint, whose only appearance of the season so far came as a substitute on the opening day, could come back into the reckoning.
The defender was “unselected” for the first round clash with Plymouth Argyle after a discussion with Johnson.
But the City boss said: “I’m fed up with other managers talking about our players – I don’t think that is right. It’s put up or shut time really. I might even pick Aden for the Watford game.”
