‘The type of test we want’ – Smith

Korey Smith is looking forward to taking on Fulham at Craven Cottage this weekend, not least due to the prospect of facing former teammates Joe Bryan and Bobby Reid.

The trio share many delights from their time at City and were part of the 2014/15 double-winning team. Particularly, Bryan and Reid graduated from the Bristol City FC Academy and have gone on to play in the top flight (Bryan with Fulham and Reid with Cardiff City).

But they are just two players in a Fulham squad “with Premier League quality” and Smith is relishing the challenge.

“With Fulham away at the weekend it will be great to see Joe and Bobby. I’m sure they will want to do well,” the midfielder said.

“It’s credit to the club for bringing top players such as those two through [the Academy]. They have done an amazing job for us, have moved on but we’ll be looking forward to seeing them and hopefully getting the three points over them at the weekend - that will add a little bit of extra spice to the game!

“We’ve had a good record at Craven Cottage, I scored a few years ago (2017/18 season – Smith’s first league goal for the club) and we seem to have done well against them in recent years but listen, they’re a top team with Premier League-quality players and that’s the kind of test we want.

“We’ll go there and like any game we are looking to get the three points. When the game kicks off it will be 11v11 on the pitch and we will want to get those three points to set us up through the Christmas period.”

Supporters are reminded that the club has sold out its entire away allocation. Fans without a tickets are not advised to travel.

Live audio commentary will be available through a Robins TV subscription in the UK & Ireland, while international-based supporters will be able to watch via a live stream.

As always, the match will also be covered live via the club’s Twitter feed to ensure you don’t miss a second of the action.
