🎥 'The players deserved more' - Pearson

Nigel Pearson was pleased with his side's quality, spirit and commitment in a commanding display from the Robins at Ashton Gate despite bowing out of the Emirates FA Cup.

After 90 minutes the game headed into extra-time as the sides couldn't be separated at 0-0. City had dominated proceedings in BS3 with the lion's share of possession and a flurry of chances, however they could not find the back of the net.

Despite the Robins' efforts, they bowed out of the FA Cup when a Harry Wilson cross beat everyone in the box and found the back of the net in the first-half of extra time.

Speaking to Robins TV, Pearson said: "I thought the players showed a lot of quality, spirit and commitment. It was a good match in difficult conditions, I feel for the players today because they deserved more.

"We've given everything we could today, we showed quality against a really good side and we caused them problems, but we weren't clinical enough in front of goal.

Pearson also spoke about how City's young core embraced the challenge and took the game to high-flying Fulham.
