The Final Countdown Explored

All the teams in the relegation battle have just three games left to play as they look to scrap it out to avoid the drop.

Rotherham United are already guaranteed to finish bottom of the pile, while Wigan Athletic have it all to do to escape, effectively requiring maximum points.

Blackburn Rovers, fresh from their 1-1 draw with City yesterday, currently occupy the final relegation spot – but there could still be plenty of twists and turns in the story to come.

Burton Albion secured a much-needed 2-0 win at fellow strugglers Birmingham City yesterday, prompting the resignation of Gianfranco Zola.

Unsurprisingly, the Blues have acted fast to appoint a new man, welcoming Harry Redknapp to the fold, who in turn has appointed ex-City boss Steve Cotterill as his assistant.

bcfc.co.uk takes a look at the remaining games of all those involved in the relegation fight.
