The City loans report: Vyner's super solo strike

Keep up to date with the latest performances from the Robins players out on loan.

Zak Vyner scored a brilliant solo goal in Aberdeen’s 3-0 win away to Motherwell.

The right-back cut inside on his right foot before unleashing a shot from the edge of the box into the bottom left corner, flicking off the post on its way.

The win lifts Aberdeen up to fourth in the Scottish Premiership before they were scheduled to play Celtic this weekend.

Matty Taylor scored his fifth goal in six games as Oxford United beat Rotherham United 2-1 in League One.

There were also wins for George Nurse who came off the bench for Newport County and Robbie Cundy at Torquay United. The Gulls were involved in a five-goal FA Cup fourth qualifying round encounter, overcoming Boreham Wood 3-2 to book their place in the next round.

Max O’Leary and Joe Morrell met in Shrewsbury Town’s 0-0 draw with Lincoln City, while Liam Walsh’s Coventry City were also held to a goalless draw.

In League Two, James Morton came on as a substitute in Forest Green Rovers’ 2-2 draw with Mansfield.

Sam Pearson returned from international duty to assist Bath City in their 1-0 win over St Albans, while Vince Harper put in a Man of the Match showing for Gloucester City. The Tigers won 1-0 keeping a clean sheet with Harvey Smith in defence.

Elsewhere there were defeats for Jamie Paterson (Derby), Cameron Pring and Rory Holden (Walsall), Jonny Smith (Oldham), Louis Britton and Bradd Webb (Yate Town).
