Thank you as Robins smash Prostate United target

City staff have smashed their daily November challenge to raise £8,500 for Prostate Cancer UK by running and cycling more than 4,000km.

Eighteen backroom personnel (some pictured above) have each run either 3km, 5km, 10km or cycled 10km, 15km, 25km for each of the month's 30 days - a total of 2,587km run and 1,523km biked.

And thanks to the generosity of friends, fans and families the Robins have topped their initial £5,000 target to fund life-saving research into prostate cancer.

Prostate United was started by Rotherham United’s sports science team in 2018 and has grown into an annual nationwide challenge by football clubs and individuals.

City legend and kitman Scotty Murray, who took on the 5km a day challenge, said: "We have been blown away by people's generosity to help to stop this deadly disease which affects one in eight men in their lifetime. The commitment of everyone who did the challenge, not just here at City but at clubs across the country, has been inspirational. It's been a hard slog at times but worth it to see this money going to life-saving research."

There is still time to donate - thank you again.
