Taylor Moore was quick to express his delight having put pen to paper on a new deal at Ashton Gate.
The young defender has agreed a new two-year deal in BS3, which keeps him at the club until the summer of 2021.
“I’m really, really happy to be honest with you,” he said. “I’ve worked really hard over the past couple of seasons with my loan spells but I am very happy to be back here at Ashton Gate and to get the new contract signed.
“I think we’ve got a good group here, a talented squad. The manager is young and really wants to push young players through as well.
“We’re learning every day on the training pitch but for me personally I want to try and make a mark. I really want to impose myself in this team and show that the loan spells have been beneficial and that I’m good enough to play for this team in the Championship.”
Since arriving from Lens in 2016, Moore’s benefited from three loan spells at Bury, Cheltenham Town and Southend United, and has already made two first-team appearances in City colours this campaign.
“Each and every one of the loan spells taught me many different things,” he continued.
“I think every young player probably has to go through loan spells and then return to their parent club to try and impress the staff. I tried my absolute best and I’ve worked really hard during pre-season, and every single time I walk out on to the pitch I give 100 per cent.
“It’s been brilliant getting minutes against Leeds and getting experience in the Championship – I was nervous but I kept believing in myself. It was also beneficial to complete 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup so I’m very happy at the moment.
“I’m thrilled to be back here at Ashton Gate and hopefully I can show what I have learnt during my loan spells and that can be beneficial for me here this season.”
City return to competitive action tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm KO) when they host QPR in the Sky Bet Championship.
Over 21,000 tickets have been sold and remain on general sale.
