Taylor completes Oxford United loan

Matty Taylor has joined Oxford United on a season-long loan, with the option of a recall in January.

Taylor, 29, arrived in BS3 from Bristol Rovers in the January transfer window in 2017.

The striker has scored nine goals in 75 appearances for the Robins so far and now links up with his hometown club on a temporary basis.

City Head Coach Lee Johnson said: “Matty has been a pleasure to work with and given the emergence of Antoine Semenyo and the club-developed player requirement, Matty’s game time would be potentially restricted.

“Therefore, after an honest discussion, we both decided the loan would be best for Matty to progress his career both in the short term and long term. If mindsets change, we do have the option of a recall.”
