Bristol Sport wants to help create a wave of support for Bristol City in their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final at Wembley.
From Friday a special City scarf will be on sale at half the usual price in the Megastore at Ashton Gate for just £5.
All profits from the sale of the scarves will be donated to Oskar Pycroft’s “Help Oskar Walk” charity.
The six-year-old will be leading out his beloved City as mascot against Walsall at Wembley on March 22nd and needs to raise £50,000 for a life-changing operation.
City dedicated the Preston game in November to Oskar and managed to raise more than £15,000.
Since then donations have doubled and the young City supporter is close to reaching his target. The City scarf will hopefully help to get Oskar over the line!
Bristol City vice-chairman and Bristol Sport director Jon Lansdown said: “It is fantastic that so many people in the local sporting community have got behind Oskar’s charity.
“The players have all pledged their support and are really looking forward to Oskar leading them out onto the pitch at Wembley. It would be tremendous if on the day we can say that he has reached his target and will be able to have the operation he so desperately needs.
“With nearly 40,000 City supporters heading to Wembley, a sea of red and white scarves would be an incredible sight.”
Lizzie Pycroft, Oskar’s mum, said: “Oskar is so excited about leading the team out. Thanks to everyone who has got behind his campaign. It seemed impossible last year but now it looks very likely that Oskar will be able to have the operation this year. It will fundamentally change his life.”
The Bristol Sport Megastore in open between 9am-5pm Mon-Fri, 10am-3pm on weekend matchdays, 9am-1pm non-matchdays. The scarf can also be purchased online, along with a host of other Wembley 2015 merchandise, via bristolsportstore.co.uk.
Fans can still donate. Text OZZI70 and the chosen amount to 70070 (eg OZZI70 £5 to 70070). Better still donate online at justgiving.com/Oskar-70 and gain an extra 25 per cent on each donation through Gift Aid.
