🥇 Student wins Santander's Dragon's Den Competition

Robins Foundation’s Sports Business and Entrepreneurship degree student Sam Jukes has won Santander's Dragon's Den Competition.

Sam joined the entrepreneurship-based degree programme in 2019, and in 2020 founded the Cacto Drinks Company, with a vision of creating healthy solutions for the human body and our planet. Sam did years of research and developed an entirely natural recipe that contains multiple health benefits, whilst remaining low in sugar and calories compared to other fruit juices on the market.

Cacto is rich in electrolytes, vitamins and rare antioxidants like phenolic acid that have numerous health benefits for the heart, brain, and nervous system. The high amounts of magnesium found in Cacto’s core ingredient also increases a human’s metabolic rate which can encourage healthy weight loss, as well as accelerating physical recovery.

Beyond the human body, Sam’s dreams for the Cacto Drinks Company span much wider than just a drink, as he strives to use the company’s profits for the improvement of third-world communities, giving back to the people that inspired and supported Sam on his own journey.

💬 Polly Wardle, Head of Education commented “Sam has put years of work into Cacto. Every week whilst on the course, he worked incredibly hard and used the programme as an environment to develop his business. We’re really proud of the work that he has put in and I am sure this will be start of many awards for Cacto”.

💬 Sam commented “Very happy to announce that Cacto is Santander's Dragon's Den Winner! A great accomplishment and one I'm very proud of. Big thanks to UWE, Santander, and Bristol City Robin's Foundation for their support and the opportunity to compete”
