Steve Cotterill's Ipswich press conference

Steve Cotterill met the local and national media ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet Championship against Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

Here's a brief summary of what he had to say...

  • Nathan Baker is fit to return to the squad
  • Korey Smith rated 50/50 for clash with Ipswich due to groin injury
  • Cotterill says City won't benefit from free week as Ipswich made 11 changes in the Capital One Cup
  • Manager says Ipswich have done well, carrying on from last season
  • Cotterill: "To be able to change every player to play Manchester United shows they've put together a good squad."
  • Asked about a change in style, Cotterill said: "Why would I change that?...We'll get al compact and whack it up the field? That won't be me. It's not even an issue."
  • Manager adds: "The players have been recruited to play a certain way."
  • Cotterill says his team have come up against a lot of teams that utilise the counter-attack, adding: "I don't know if we'll go down that road because we like to be in charge of the game, but we have to be smarter with the way we defend against it."
  • Cotterill: "We're all in it together. The mood is still exactly the same as it was last year."
