Goalkeeper Luke Steele has been called up to the City starting XI to face Aston Villa.
Steele, making his fifth appearance for the club since signing last summer, replaces Frank Fielding who is serving a one-match ban.
Fielding received a straight red card after fouling Matt Doherty during the 2-1 Wolves defeat on Saturday.
As a result, Max O'Leary has been recalled following his loan spell with Solihull Moors and is among the substitutes at Villa Park this evening.
Bristol City v Aston Villa kicks off at 5.30pm.
City: Steele, Wright, Flint, Baker, Magnusson, Brownhill, Smith, Pack, Bryan, Paterson, Reid. Subs: O’Leary, Kelly, Vyner, Eliasson, Leko, Taylor, Woodrow.
Aston Villa: Johnstone, Elmohamady, Chester, Elphick, Hutton, Snodgrass, Hourihane, Jedinak, Adomah, Grealish, Hogan. Subs: Steer, Taylor, Bree, Bjarnason, Hepburn-Murphy, O'Hare, Davis.
Referee: Andy Davies
