Bristol City Football Club is disappointed and frustrated with the Football Association’s (FA) decision not to overturn Famara Diédhiou’s six-game ban, following an appeal hearing.
The striker was found, by an FA Regulatory Commission, to have breached Rule E1(a), relating to an alleged spitting incident during City’s 3-1 win against Birmingham City at Ashton Gate on Tuesday, April 10th 2018.
Both the club and player continue to strongly deny the allegation which we believe was based on very limited evidence.
Diédhiou will miss City’s first six games of the 2018/19 season.
No further comment will be made by the club on this issue.
The Grand Appeal is gearing up for a bumper summer of fundraising across Bristol and the South West as it marks the 25th Anniversary of the iconic dress-down event, Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day.
