Stars in their eyes at primary football tournament

This week Ashton Park School Sports Partnerships held their annual football tournament at Imperial Sports Ground.

In past years the teams that make it to the semi-finals will then go on to play at Ashton Gate but unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this could not be the case this year.

But instead different football team from primary schools across Bristol have played against one another this week - a fantastic few days getting the young people back together to play the sport they love and making new friends with students from other schools.

Primary Stars Lead Coach James Howiantz said: "We are so pleased to welcome all these primary schools down to the events. It's been a really tough year for everyone involved but to see the smiles on the kids faces makes the wait all worthwhile. The staff have mentioned how therapeutic the experience is.

"We are really proud to be supporting Ashton Park SSP with these events. They are so important in allowing children to express themselves and relieve stress so it's great to see that so many schools have taken this opportunity."
