
City hand trial to defender Pierre

City have named a 22-man squad for their first pre-season friendly at Guernsey FC tomorrow (1pm kick-off).
Supporters making the journey to the Channel Island side’s Footes Lane home will get their first glimpse of Italian defender Eros Pisano, signed on a free transfer from Hellas Verona in June.
On-trial Wycombe Wanderers centre-back Aaron Pierre is also part of the travelling party.
Head coach Lee Johnson has named two young goalkeepers, Jojo Wollacott and Max O’Leary, in the squad, with Frank Fielding and Ivan Lucic set to feature a day later against Bristol Manor Farm in the annual Community Match (4pm kick-off).
Republic of Ireland winger Callum O’Dowda has returned from his extended break, but other internationals Famara Diédhiou, Bailey Wright and Hordur Magnusson remain absent.
Gary O’Neil (foot) and Matty Taylor (groin) won’t be risked after returning for pre-season training with slight knocks, while Lee Tomlin has a slight thigh injury.

Community activities at the Creek will begin from 1pm, with free football for youngsters, plus a host of challenges. Scrumpy the Robin will also be at the game.
