Sophie Baggaley has put pen to paper on a new two year deal at Bristol City Women.
Baggaley enjoyed a stellar 2018/19 campaign in which she was named in the PFA Team of the Year and was voted FAWSL Players’ Player of the Year.
The City keeper has now penned a new deal, keeping her at the club until the summer of 2021.
The 22-year-old said: “I’m delighted to have signed a new contract at City. As a team we’ve had a great season and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.
“Tanya is a really good manager to play under, she tells you exactly what she wants and people respect that, and I think that has shown on the pitch. I’ve had such a good time here over the last couple of years and it is right I stay here even longer.
“I’m really excited about the direction the club is moving in, Bristol City is really kicking on to the next level and is definitely the right place for me to develop.”
While the summer months means a break from the action, Baggaley says she can’t wait to get under way once more, as she outlined her aims and ambitions with City.
She added: “The fans have been great this season, we have such strong support home and away and I can’t wait to get back out on the pitch and show them what we can do in the coming season.
“We need to build on what we’ve achieved this season. We want to go one step higher, move up the table and really compete at the top end.”
