Jonny Smith can add League Two promotion to his CV after Tranmere Rovers ran out 1-0 winners against Newport County at Wembley.
Smith scored six goals and as many assist during his loan spell which helped set up the play-off clash v Tyreeq Bakinson's Newport County.
Bakinson was a second-half substitute but couldn't help prevent Connor Jennings' last-gasp winner.
It had been a season of memories for Bakinson, who was voted the Exiles’ Young Player of the Year. He scored one goal and laid on six assists in an encouraging season where he faced treble winners Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.
Wide man Smith also made 40 appearances for the Whites. He played his part in Rovers’ run to the Emirates FA Cup third round where they played UEFA Champions League finalists Tottenham Hotspur.
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
