Korey Smith says he will continue to give his all if asked to slot into the right-back position to cover Nathan Baker's suspension.
Wth centre-back Baker banned for three games, a reshuffle at the back could be in order starting with City's trip to Bolton Wanderers on Friday night (8pm kick-off).
Naturally a central midfielder, Smith is one City player who has played right-back before, adopting it as his second position.
Discussing the possibility of moving as part of a back four, Smith told BCTV: "I prefer playing in midfield but if I have to I will play right-back to help out the team.
"I’m happy to be out on the pitch playing so I’m grateful to be anywhere on the pitch. The gaffer and I know I prefer to play centre midfield but if I play right-back then I will give 100 per cent and try to play my best."
When asked how he found his abilities as a reserve right-back, Smith added: "I don’t know to be honest. I have been out there at different times in my career, starting in the Norwich reserves.
"I played there for a couple of games and with the gaffer at Oldham Athletic. We had a couple of injuries so I covered at right-back for a few games.
"It’s something I can do if needed and I try my best to do what I can.”
City's trip to the Macron Stadium will be televised live on Sky Sports (8pm kick-off).
The Matthew Bromley memorial basketball games will take place from 4pm on Saturday, May 28th at the SGS College Arena.
