Korey Smith has been rated 50/50 for Bristol City's Severnside derby clash with Cardiff City at Ashton Gate tomorrow (12noon).
The midfielder missed the 2-1 victory at Nottingham Forest last weekend due to bone bruising on his ankle, but could return against the Bluebirds.
Head coach Lee Johnson revealed Luke Ayling is on the verge of being back in the squad after six weeks out with a knee injury.
“Luke Ayling has been doing well – I’ve been pleased with him,” Johnson told Bristol City Player HD.
“He’s 100 per cent in contention. He’s looked good and he’s an infectious, bubbly character to have around the place.
“Obviously we know of his quality and he’ll be pushing for that right-back spot, or even a midfield one.”
Johnson also stated that Mark Little has fully recovered from the brief injury setback that saw him miss the recent win at MK Dons, while Arnold Garita is on his way back after a knee operation.
“We are a bit light in terms of numbers, but not if we keep picking up results as we have been,” he added.
