Sessegnon makes comeback with young Robins

Steven Sessegnon completed 65 minutes as he helped City's Under-23s beat Charlton Athletic 4-3 on Tuesday (February 9th).

It was an encouraging afternoon for the right-back, on loan from Fulham, with this being his first football match since injuring his hamstring on first-team duty against Swansea in October.

"It felt good to get a little run out," Sessegnon told Robins TV. "It was tough at first but I'm happy to be back out here.

"I was feeling good at half-time so I thought I could carry on. I was scheduled to play 60 minutes but the extra five won't hurt and I'm happy go get minutes in the legs."

"I had a strange feeling in my body, you get the bubbly feeling on a matchday but it's good to have that back. I'm happy to be back out here running. It was strange to get going, to get up to the ball and be around players but a few more of those and I'll be good to go.

"It's still early but I feel good. There's no rush in it, there are plenty of games for me to come and do what I can do."

City's victory in the seven-goal thriller, thanks to a brace apiece from Tommy Conway and Louis Britton, means they stay top of the Professional Development League South.

Sessegnon added: "I'm lucky to come into a team like this. It's a squad of good, energetic players with good quality so they made it easier. In a game like this we played smart, we played it on the floor when we could and managed to get the goals early on."
