Scott shares tips for healthy living

Fit Robins participants had a surprise call from Alex Scott during their end-of-season presentation.

To celebrate their impressive weight loss, Fit Robins participants had a private tour around Ashton Gate Stadium and were surprised by City's Alex Scott.

Scott joined them via zoom during their presentation to congratulate them on their weight loss and offered some tips on how he stays fit and healthy.

As the 12-week programme comes to an end, participants have now learnt how to live a healthy lifestyle, met new friends and formed groups that will continue to support them in the future.

FIT ROBINS is a free health and wellbeing initiative which aims to promote healthy living and help City fans lose weight. The programme achieves this by helping participants:

  • Improve their eating habits by reducing portion sizes and swapping fatty and sugary foods for fruit, vegetables and high fibre foods
  • Achieve at least 45 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity on most days of the week. They receive weekly exercise sessions at their club for 12 weeks, and follow a personal pedometer-based walking programme that encourages them to fit physical activity into their daily lives
  • Use tried-and-tested behaviour change techniques to become more active and improve their diet. These include regular self-monitoring of their weight and pedometer step counts and setting SMART goals to make changes that can be sustained long term

Sign-ups for the next programme starts the first week of January. To find out more about the project please click here or to sign up please email Lee Gillett.
