Alex Scott looks back on a “crazy” year, having progressed from the Academy to making his City debut.
The 17-year-old midfielder, who joined from Guernsey in early 2020, has captained the Under-18s and been a regular in the Under-23s side before making his first team debut against Luton Town in April.
And next up is Saturday’s match against Brentford in the final game of the campaign.
The Bees have already secured their play-off place, not that midfielder Scott is worried as he looks forward to the next task.
“I’m enjoying every moment as they come,” he told Robins TV. “It’s been a surprise the turnaround from playing Under-18s to Under-23s and now with the first team. I’m enjoying every moment training with the best players so it’s good.
“It’s been crazy! I’d been in and around the squad and on the bench a few times so to finally get my chance against Luton, I had to show what I can do. Unfortunately, we lost the game and coming on at 2-2 was tough but I tried my best.
“I worked hard and got 45 minutes at Millwall. Again, that was a tough game, a lot of running to chase balls down but I’ve got to keep impressing and hopefully I’ll get my chance at the weekend.
“Every game in the Championship is tough. At Millwall it was 2-1 at half-time then they scored two quick goals so it was game over. At Luton we looked comfortable, and things changed in the second half, so it’s tough to take but, playing against and with players of these capabilities, anything can happen. I’m just taking each game as they come.”
City v Brentford, with Rene Gilmartin as guest and co-commentator, will be streamed live on Robins TV from 12pm for all the build-up ahead of kick-off.
England international and World Cup winner, Sophie Halhead will join the Bears Women board ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
