Saturday Has To Be Our Day - Wright

Bailey Wright has eyes firmly set on Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship showdown with Burton Albion.

Goals from Jonathan Kodjia and Conor Hourihane gave Aston Villa a 2-0 win over City at Villa Park last night.

Blackburn Rovers’ 1-0 win over Derby County means City are only above the dreaded relegation zone on goal difference alone.

Next up is a home clash with Burton, who arrive at Ashton Gate two places above and three points ahead of Lee Johnson’s team.

“We’ve got a really important game on Saturday and it’s key that we pick ourselves up and get ready for that,” Wright told Bristol City Player HD.

“Of course they’re all big games. We haven’t had the results recently but we have to ensure Saturday is our day.

“We all want the same thing and it’s important everyone pulls in the same direction. We need a good atmosphere and a good crowd on Saturday.”

Of the Villa reverse, the Australian centre-half said: “We showed what we’re all about in the first half, creating a number of good chances.

“When [Kodjia] missed the penalty I thought it was going to be our night.

“I’m disappointed with how the second half went and from a personal point of view I feel I should have done better with both goals.”
