Meaghan Sargeant has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Bristol City Women.
Sargeant, 24, will join the club in July.
She is a graduate of Sheffield United’s Centre of Excellence before enjoying spells at Arsenal Women’s Academy, Lincoln Ladies and most recently, Birmingham City Women.
Sargeant’s technical ability allows for her to be deployed anywhere across the back four and she can push up into the midfield if required.
The Sheffield born stopper has previously represented England at youth level and she is excited to join City Women and develop under the guidance of the Oxtoby and her coaching staff.
“I’m really excited to take the next step in my career and join Bristol City Women,” said Sargeant.
“I’ve previously worked with Tanya, so I know what she is about and I feel Bristol is the right place for me to develop. It’s a fresh start me and I’m looking forward to learning new skills from the coaches and players at the club.
Sargeant featured for Birmingham in both fixtures against Bristol City Women last season and the defender says her decision was made easier after visiting the club and meeting the staff.
“I definitely feel more settled now I have made my decision. I came to meet Tanya and the staff at the club, and they were all very welcoming which made me feel very comfortable and confident in my decision.
“I’m happy and relaxed now, but I’m excited to get started.”
