Rochdale Will Be Dangerous - Cotterill

Steve Cotterill never had any doubts about Rochdale’s ability to challenge in Sky Bet League One.

One of the bookies’ favourites for relegation at the start of 2014/15, following their promotion from the bottom tier, Rochdale have defied the odds to stand an outside chance of reaching the play-offs.

They sit just four points adrift of the top six, albeit amongst a cluster of other clubs in a congested middle section of the League One table.

But having given City a tough time at Spotland back in August, in a game that ended 1-1, City’s manager is not taking anything for granted.

“I knew they’d do well,” the City boss told Bristol City Player. “Keith (Hill, Rochdale maanger) is a great guy and he’s taken to management very well.

“I had him as a player at Cheltenham Town. He did a great job at Rochdale at the start and did well at Barnsley without getting the recognition for it.

“He’s since gone back to Rochdale and continued from where he left off.

“I like him a lot and look forward to seeing him on Saturday, but hopefully we won’t be giving his team anything.

“They’re dangerous, especially from counter-attacks. We need to be aware of that.

“They like to get a lot of bodies in the box, but that could leave them open at times.

“We need to keep the ball and keep possession, and try to make it count when we get the chances.”

Cotterill has reported having a fully fit squad to choose from.
