Robins' pre-season games announced

As part of the City's preparation for the 2020/21 campaign, Dean Holden's side will welcome Cheltenham Town to Ashton Gate on Friday, August 21st.

Cheltenham finished their curtailed 2019/20 season in fourth but missed out on a place in the play-off final, suffering an aggregate defeat to Northampton Town.

City and Cheltenham are familiar opponents in pre-season games and the Gloucestershire side were also coached by new Robins Assistant Head Coach Keith Downing, who alongside John Ward and current City goalkeeping coach Pat Mountain, guided Cheltenham to promotion to League One in 2006.

City will face Portsmouth at Ashton Gate in their final outing before the new season commences.

League One side Pompey – who suffered semi-final play-off heartache to Oxford United in the latest campaign – will face the Robins on Saturday, August 29th.

Supporters are reminded that all fixtures – friendlies and Sky Bet Championship matches – will continue to be played behind closed doors due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and government guidance until further notice.
