Robins Foundation students partner with Starks Fitness

Students enrolled onto the Foundation’s pioneering degree programme have embarked on a media and marketing project with Starks Fitness.

The students – who are enrolled onto the Foundation’s Sports Business and Entrepreneurship Degree (SBE) programme – will be partnering with Bristol based fitness provider, Starks Fitness, as part of their studies.

The rapidly growing company are currently in the process of developing an app, which will enable them to move into the digital fitness space and this marketing project will help identify new opportunities for Stark Fitness.

Over the coming weeks, the students will carry out a marketing audit of Starks Fitness and will present their findings and recommendations back to the fitness companies Director and marketing team.

Whilst providing students with a unique insight into the workings of a real business and the opportunity to utilise some of the skills learnt during their studies, the project is also assessed and will contribute to each student’s end of year grade.

“This project is just one example of the practical experience that students gain whilst studying our Sports Business and Entrepreneurship degree.” Explained programme lead, Polly Wardle.

“Providing our students with real world experience is a key part of the SBE degree programme, we strive to provide graduates with the skills and abilities needed to seamlessly transition from education into the workplace.

“We are looking forward to seeing what ideas the students come up with when they present their findings and recommendations in a few weeks.”

What is the Sports Business & Entrepreneurship degree?

Ran in partnership with the University of the West of England our BA (Hons) Sports Business and Entrepreneurship course is a radically different degree for those looking to study entrepreneurship in a leading sports business environment.

Students are based at Ashton Gate Stadium, with access to the stadium's impressive facilities, staff, coaching and networking.

Inspired by the pioneering Finnish 'Team Academy' approach, UWE Bristol was among the first to introduce this type of course to the UK.

It's particularly relevant for those looking for a practical, hands-on approach, and the chance to take charge of their studies, with the possibility of earning income alongside gaining valuable experience.
