Robins Foundation excel on the EFL Day of Action

City trio joined the Robins Foundation in celebrating the annual EFL Day of Action.

The annual event took place on Tuesday (March 10th) and saw clubs from across the country taking part to showcase some of the fantastic work carried out by the various community club organisations.

The Robins Foundation carry out a wide variety of provision in the local community to tackle some of societies biggest challenges. The Foundation's projects range from; walking football to combat social isolation, mentoring for young people living in foster care and disability football sessions for both children and adults living with disabilities.

As part of the day, the club’s official charity welcomed City trio, Callum O’Dowda, Pedro Pereira and Filip Benkovic to a football tournament organised by students enrolled onto the Foundation’s degree programme and attended by over 90 students also studying with the Robins Foundation on their BTEC courses.

 

Chief Executive Officer of Bristol City Robins Foundation, Dan White said: “Today we have been showcasing just some of the work that we do every day of the year at the Foundation.

“Having a visit from the players really adds something special to the day and certainly means a lot to our students.

“The EFL Day of Action provides a great opportunity to raise awareness about the work that we do and if just one more person hears about what we do and decides to get involved, then that is a success for me.”

O’Dowda told the Foundation, “It’s really nice to give back to the community. The work that the Robins Foundation carry out across Bristol is absolutely brilliant and it's really nice to be involved and help bring a smile to some faces.”

In addition to the tournament the Robins Foundation also showcased one of their walking football sessions, some of their primary school delivery, one of their youth disability sessions, as well as their award winning multi-generational free female fitness project (F3).
