🎉 Robins Foundation celebrates 20 years

The Robins Foundation celebrated its 20th Anniversary on Saturday at City's fixture against West Bromwich Albion.

The annual Foundation Day showcased all of the incredible work the organisation has done in the community over the past two decades with the match an important opportunity to raise funds to improve lives and inspire our community.

Foundation Day also saw the launch of the charity's strategy for 2022-25 about which CEO Dan White said: "The weekend was a great celebration of everything we have achieved over the past two decades. We now look forward to ensuring that in the next 20 years we continue to make a positive impact in our community and beyond."

Prior to kick-off White and Education participant, Millie Rose was interviewed by matchday presenter Ian Downs. The pair discussed the charity's work in the local community and beyond, how people can access their programmes as well as the journey and growth of students working with the Robins Foundation.

The Foundation also shared the story of another one of their participants - Marshall.

When in April last year Marshall began attending the Premier League Kick project he was overweight with no levels of fitness and struggled to integrate socially with his peers.

Through working with the Foundation he has lost 20 kilograms and has become outgoing and brimming with energy.

"The Robins' Foundation is like a second home to me, it’s a really safe space for me and helps me get rid of anything that happened," said Marshall.

"You just don’t need to worry when you are there, you can talk to someone if you need to or you can just come and play at a session," he added. "Working with the Robins Foundation is brilliant, it’s improved my mental health drastically and my physical health has gone way up too.

"It makes me feel a lot better to know there’s always something at the beginning of my day waiting for me. Knowing that I can go there run about and help coach sessions, gain bonds with the other kids who are there - it is a massive motivational boost for me every day."
