Tomas Kalas, Tommy Rowe and Nathan Baker are in line to return to Sky Bet Championship action on Friday when the Robins take on Stoke City in BS3 (April 2nd, 3pm KO), live on Robins TV.
The talismanic captain Kalas is in contention to return to the heart of the City defence after falling awkwardly last time out and injuring his hip against Rotherham United.
Nigel Pearson’s defensive options have also been bolstered by the return of the versatile Rowe, who is available for selection after recovering from ligament injury below the knee, which he sustained in late January.
On Baker, Pearson has confirmed the centre back is "in contention" to make the matchday squads over the Easter weekend, after more minutes on the field with game time on the training pitches.
“Tomas will probably be available,” Manager Pearson told Robins TV. “Tommy will also be in the squad for the upcoming games over the Easter period, it’s good to get him back.
Callum O’Dowda is not in contention for selection to face the Potters with Pearson taking the decision to carefully manage his return which may not see him appear again this season. However, there is further positive news as Jay Dasilva edges closer to a return to the pitch after rejoining training this week.
“I have made a call on Callum - regardless of how quickly he recovers – that I probably won’t use him,” he continued. “We protect his interests as well and we want a fully fit Callum O’Dowda heading into next season – he’s a very important player for us.
“Jay is back out on the grass with us. He’s not as close, but it’s good to see him back out there and he’s very much in good spirits.”
