Returning players offer food for thought

Dean Holden says competition for places is exactly what he is after with the squad soon to be boosted by the return of more fit and fresh players.

Mo Eisa and Hakeeb Adelakun have been getting minutes away from first-team football as they make their returns from their respective injuries.

The assistant head coach was discussing the positives of competition for places, ahead of City's trip to Reading in the Sky Bet Championship this Saturday (November 3rd, 3pm)

"We have got good competition for places," the assistant head coach told BCTV.

"Players are coming back from injuries. Mo (Eisa) and Hakeeb (Adelakun) have had minutes in a behind closed doors friendly this week and both played very well.

"That ultimately gives the manager some food for thought with team selection and that’s all the coaching staff want – good players all vying for a starting place".

City will be backed by a sold-out away end at the Madejski Stadium tomorrow. Fans without a ticket for the match are not advised to travel for the fixture.
