📝 Report: Under-23s secure Paulton Rovers win

City’s Under-23s finished their first pre-season match with a 3-0 win over Paulton Rovers on Saturday (July 17th).

The young Robins were two goals to the good before half-time, with captain Joe Low - pictured - heading in the opener against the Southern League Division One South team at Winterfield Road.

He met Marlee Francois' cross inside the 14th minute, while the hosts had former City shotstopper Aaron Sainsbury to thank for thwarting Francois from getting on the scoresheet himself.

James Taylor and Ayman Benarous missed the target as City pressed well however, the second goal came two minutes from the end of the first half when Taylor cut down the right and saw his cross find Benarous who buried the ball low past Sainsbury on this occasion.

Paulton had their moments of dominance after the break but their troubles proved in vain as the Robins struck for a third time through Seb Palmer-Houlden.

The Under-23s will face Weston-super-Mare at the Optima Stadium in their next pre-season fixture.
