City Under-18s made it five unbeaten following a goalless draw with Sheffield Wednesday.
Trevor Challis’ side dominated the encounter in South Yorkshire, but found themselves frustrated by the woodwork when it mattered.
Cameron Allen (pictured) curled a free kick against the crossbar on 20 minutes, before watching as the ball rebounded against the back of the goalkeeper and squeezed narrowly wide of the goal.
Tom Richards missed from six yards out following Ricardo Rees’ centre, as City continued on the front foot.
Then, with almost the last kick of the game, Allen against struck the bar from a free kick.
“We’ve dominated the game against the team that currently occupy second place in the northern division,” said coach Challis.
“The lads performed really well and on another day we would come away with a convincing win. The good news is we’ve kept the unbeaten run going into our final game against Leeds United next weekend.”
City Under-18s: Sesay, Ali, Tanner, Morton, Parsons, Harvey Smith, Edwards (Turner-Wiliams), Z.Smith (Day), Allen, Richards (Harry Smith), Rees.
Flyers TV game passes are now on sale for Tuesday night's game against Newcastle Eagles.
