Report: Sheffield United U23s 1-2 Bristol City U23s

Goals from Tom Richards and Joe Morrell ensured consecutive victories for the City development squad.

The match saw Taylor Moore handed his return to competitive action, following an ankle injury which he sustained during pre-season.

City took a half-time lead when Richards headed home from captain Morrell's cross in stoppage time.

And Luke Williams' side doubled their advantage against the young Blades when Morrell tucked home from the penalty spot.

The host's keeper spilled a Jake Andrews shot and fouled Richards who looked to follow-up on the rebound. But up stepped Morrell and the young Welshman converted from 12 yards.

George Broadbent pulled a goal back for the home side but City held on to secure the 2-1 win, off the back of their 5-0 demolition of Sheffield Wednesday just days earlier.

City U23s starting XI: Sesay, Andrews, Moore, Harrison, Pring, Edwards, Lemonheigh-Evans, Richards, Morrell, Janneh, Holden. Subs: Turner-Williams, Carey, Day, Ali, Rees.
