Report: QPR U23s 1-4 City U23s

A Ricardo Rees hat-trick inspired City to a 4-1 win away to Queens Park Rangers Under-23s in the capital.

Sam Pearson was also on the scoresheet at Harlington training ground as Luke Williams' side extended their unbeaten run in the Professional Development League to four games.

Rees tucked home after just eight minutes and City dominated the chances as the first half progressed but failed to hit the target. That was until Pearson's long-range strike took a deflection to double their lead just before half-time.

Olamide Shodipo was denied by City keeper Will Buse before the travelling side made it 3-0 thanks to Rees rounding off a counter-attacking move.

And Rees added his third, reacting quickest after Tom Richards' penalty was saved just after the hour-mark.

QPR would have a late spot-kick of their own and Shodipo beat Buse with the coolest of penalties to grab the R's consolation goal.

City v QPR: Buse, Turner-Williams, Soady, Spark, Smith (C), Ali, S Pearson, Richards, Semenyo (Bell 75), Towler, Rees. Subs: Burford, Robertson, C Pearson, Hall.
