City Under-18s slipped to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of their QPR counterparts on Saturday.
Trevor Challis’ side found themselves 3-0 down by the interval, leaving a mountain to climb after the break.
Ex-Bristol Rovers centre-half Tom Harrison, who has recently joined the club’s youth setup from Yate Town, headed a goal soon after the restart.
But the Under-18s were unable to reduce the deficit any more as they suffered defeat in West London.
“The first half cost us,” said coach Challis. “We needed that second goal to really give ourselves a chance, but it never came in the second half.”
City Under-18s: Begovic, Turner-Williams, Webb, Spark, Harrison, Rees, Towler (Harry Smith), Hall (Bell), Day, V.Harper, Z.Smith.
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
