Goals from Louis Briton and Sam Bell ensured a 2-1 win over Ipswich Town Under-23s to get the young Robins back to winning ways.
The win was all the more impressive after City were reduced to ten men when Harvey Wiles-Richards was sent off. Louis Francois was replaced by goalkeeper Mac Boyd as the City side reshuffled with a player down.
However, Britton scored from the penalty spot after Ayman Benarous was fouled.
Britton could have scored again but fired wide, Bell was denied one-on-one, while Saikou Janneh headed wide.
The second goal would come in the end courtesy of Bell whose cross evaded everyone before finding the bottom corner.
The young Tractor Boys would halve the deficit through Matt Ward as the game headed for stoppage time, but City held on for the win.
The Robins are next in action against Cardiff City on Tuesday (October 5th, 1pm).
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
