City Under-18s secured an impressive point as they held top-of-the-table Crystal Palace to a goalless draw.
On the back of three straight defeats, Trevor Challis’ side faced the daunting trip to South London, where Palace have been beating all comers.
But his City youngsters stood firm, producing an impressive defensive display.
In the second half Marcus Day twice went close for the Robins, firing two shots narrowly wide of goal.
“We had to spend a lot of time defending, which was to be expected against a side of Crystal Palace’s quality,” said coach Challis. “The lads stood up well to the challenge though and could even have nicked it with a couple of opportunities in the second half.
“I was really pleased with their performance.”
City Under-18s: Carey, Turner-Williams, Ali, Burford, Turner, Spark, Z.Smith, Hall (Maguire), V.Harper (K.Smith), Harry Smith, Day (Bell).
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
