City’s youngsters were beaten 3-0 away to Crewe Alexandra in the Professional Development League.
City struggled but were unlucky not to score midway through the first half when defender Harvey Smith hit the crossbar.
After the break, the Robins looked to press high up the pitch where they found some success, but the closest they came to threatening was a driven shot rom Ricardo Reees, which the Crewe keeper pushes around the post.
The scorers for Crewe were Lewis Reilly, Travis Johnson and Tom Lowery.
City: Carey, Turner-Williams, C Pearson, Towler, H Smith, Ali, Day (S Pearson), Richards, Rees, Z Smith, Trialist (Bell 50). Subs: Soady, Robertson.
