Report: Coventry City U23s 0-1 Bristol City U23s

Sam Pearson’s top corner strike proved the difference as the young Robins beat Coventry City Under-23s 1-0 at the Alan Higgs Centre.

Joe Porton went close with a shot just over the bar before both sides hit the post in quick succession, with Sam Bell denied by the woodwork for City.

However, the deadlock would be broken inside the 37th minute when Khari Allen set up Pearson whose right-footed, 25-yard shot found the top corner.

It meant City would lead at the break, while a second-half of few opportunities followed as the teams battled gale-force winds in the Midlands.

The result means City have now won six of their seven matches played so far.

Bristol City U23s v Coventry City U23s: Harvey Wiles-Richards, Vince Harper, Khari Allen, Zak Bell, Tom Harrison, Joe Porton (Prince Henry 78), Josh Owers, Sam Bell, Sam Pearson (Dylan Kadji 87), Zak Smith, Harry Leeson (Alex Scott 78). Subs: Will Buse, James Taylor.
