Antonie Semenyo fired a brace as City Under-18s defeated Coventry City in the Midlands.
The former SGS College student struck the opener in the 34th minute after beating a Sky Blues defender out wide and rifling home under the goalkeeper.
Marcus Day and Ricardo Rees both had efforts saved and Vince Harper was denied a blatant penalty as City looked to build on their advantage.
However, it was left to Semenyo to confirm victory 15 minutes from time, pouncing on an error at the back to run clear and slot home his second of the game.
“It was a very dominant display from the team and we’re very pleased with how 2018 has begun for us,” said coach Trevor Challis.
“We could have scored many more goals on the day, but Antoine took his chances and he’s in good form at the moment.”
City Under-18s: Begovic, Ali, Harrison, Spark, Turner-Williams, Hall, Towler, Webb (V.Harper), Rees (Maguire), Semenyo (Bell), Day.
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
