City slipped to their first loss of the season in a 4-1 defeat to Peterborough United at Ashton Gate.
A bace of goals from Andrew Oluwabori and one apiece from Idris Kanu and Kuame Poku helped the Posh to victory with Ayman Benarous' second-half effort City's only goal.
City went into the game on the back of four victories and included first teamer Kasey Palmer in their line-up.
The young Robins would have the ball in the back of the net first with Sam Pearson guiding a shot on to the post, Sam Bell put the rebound away but the flag had already been raised for offside.
However, Peterborough would find success down the right and led inside the seventh minute when the hosts struggled to deal with a cross and Johnson Gyamfi arrived to fire in the opener.
Again the visitors came down the right channel and when a ball was cut back for Luke Harris, Harvey Wiles-Richards had to make low save before Andrew Oluwabori found himself unmarked and fired a low shot into the side netting.
The Posh had threatened and eventually doubled their lead through Gyamfi, whose second was a header as he met a right-sided cross from Oluwabori.
City again would see a goal disallowed for offside as they trailed at the break.
But they certainly looked more positive upon the restart.
Within minutes, Saikou Janneh got a low shot away that trickled just wide, before Bell saw his near-post cross blocked as City poured forward in the opening second-half exchanges.
And they would deservedly halve the scores soon enough. The away side tried to build from the back but Ayman Benarous (above) cut out a short backpass to the keeper, rounded William Blackmore and supplied the finish.
However, the visitors stretched their lead minutes later as they worked the ball well, beating the offside trap and a ball across the box was perfectly weighted for Idris Kanu who tapped home.
City weren’t without their chances to get back into the game: Kasey Palmer saw a header easily held by Blackmore, while Janneh saw a looping header spin off target, before he was denied by the keeper when one-on-one.
The home team had created plenty but just couldn’t find a way through before Kuame Poku scored a fourth goal via a deflection from an-edge-of-the-box shot.
