Report: Charlton Athletic U23s 2-0 Bristol City U23s

Two second-half goals gave Charlton Athletic a 2-0 win over Bristol City Under-23s at Princes Park.

Hakeeb Adelakun and Tyreeq Bakinson, both with first-team experience, were praised for their influential displays, as was defender Aden Baldwin as the young Robins started brightly.

Bakinson and Tommy Conway both fired off target in a good first half as City went into the break all level.

They defended well after the break too but the Addicks broke the deadlock with a shot into the corner from the edge of the penalty area.

A second goal for the hosts followed after an error from the back as City tried to play out from defence. A pass was intercepted and Charlton quickly doubled their advantage.

The group huffed and puffed but couldn’t capitalise on their late pressure.

Next up for the Under-23s are Cardiff City at Weston’s Optima Stadium on Monday, November 11th (1pm KO) in the Professional Development League.
