It proved a tough end to the 2017/18 campaign for City Under-18s as they crashed to a 6-0 defeat at Burnley.
Trevor Challis’ side ended the game with eight Under-16s on the pitch, and a more experienced Clarets side took full advantage.
City trailed 2-0 at the break and they came close to reducing the deficit when Jamie Edwards-Taylor had a shot hacked off the goal-line.
It was 3-0 going into the final ten minutes, at which point the home team piled on the pressure and gave the final scoreline a very one-sided look.
“It’s huge lesson for the young lads as they prepare for what is ahead of them next season,” reasoned coach Challis.
City Under-18s: Buse, Williams, Soady (Webb), Hall (Taylor), Spark (C.Pearson), Burford, S.Pearson, Towler, Bell, Edwards-Taylor, K.Smith.
